Processing Prices:
Why the Difference?
1. Chemistry:
Only so many rolls of film can be processed before chemistry
must be changed.
At Gordon's our film developing chemistry is changed when itshould
be, and QC tests are run every morning in order to insure quality
film developing for each and every roll...for your film.
2. Paper:
There are many grades of photographic paper. Less expensive labs
use lower quality printing paper in order to keep their costs
down.
At Gordon's we use only Kodak's highest grade Royal paper which
yeilds the best saturation and sharpness you can get. It's even
archival for 80 years!
3. Color:
Cheaper labs maintain less stringent quality standards. Lower
standards means fewer pictures are re-printed and results in
lower costs, but unfortunately that means lower quality prints
to you.
At Gordon's, our quality standards are so high that many of
our long time customers are professional photographers. To find
better color than ours, you'd have to go to a custom lab.
4. Sleeving:
Putting negatives in plastic sleeves costs
time and money...things which cheaper labs can't afford. But
remember...your negatives are your originals. This is not the
place to skimp.
At Gordon's we always sleeve your negatives in archival sleeves.
Your originals are returned protected, and remain protected.
5. The Lab Operator:
Let's face it, a machine is only as good as the person at the
controls. The best photo equipment in the world cannot yield
superior results if run by an inexperienced or unqualified
operator.
At Gordon's we allow only experienced, quality minded lab technicians
to print your photos. We feel your pictures are worth it. Don't
you?
